[vc_row][vc_column][title]Globetrotter 1 (English: Traveller)[/title][title size=”h3″]Deadline Games/Vision Park – 2000[/title][title size=”h4″]Art Director/Lead Artist[/title][vc_column_text]Globetrotter is my first “big” released title. The game is a trivia based family Entertainment game. At Deadline Games we where busy┬ádeveloping the game in 1999-2000 while also having Englen and Giften in development. Globetrotter became a bit of a cult game. It sold about 400.000 or so, in the Nordic region alone – that’s┬ámore than Quake did at the time, and i think it was a record. I have always been proud of the game and think it has a quality, even now. I still hear about people playing it sometimes. It is a game that get’s old pretty.

Here’s what Moby Games has to say about the game:

Globetrotter plays similar to the Backpacker series. You start the game as a new member in the Globetrotter Club. Your objective is now to become the president. To do so you will have to complete various tasks that you are assigned by the club. Your job is to take pictures of famous sights all over the world. For these you will get money and experience which is used to reach more far away locations.

There’s three levels to complete before you can become the president. Starting out as a novice you will only be able to travel within the Nordic countries. Once enough assignments has been completed more European cities will be unlocked.

As you travel around the world, you will need a place to sleep. Each place you visit has both expensive hotels and cheaper budget hotels that might take time to find if you haven’t visited the location before. However if you wander around at night time, there is a risk of being assaulted by thieves and thus losing your money. To earn money you will need to take jobs. This is done by answering questions about the profession. In total the game contains more than 4000 questions.
