The goal is to put a human being into space above the Karman line (about 100 km above the surfac of earth) in  a space capsule on the Spica rocket.

Copenhagen Suborbitals has already testet and flewn several rockets, the latest is the highly succesful active guided Sapphire rocket that flew about 8,5 km straight up. The next launch is the Nexø I and II rockets planned to fly in 2016, which also will see the design start of the big BPM-100 Spica rocket engine.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”55″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image” css_animation=”left-to-right”][vc_column_text]When i joined the organisation in 2013 i started work on the mighty HEAT-1600 LE and HEAT-1600 design based on the supervision from Kristian von Bengtson. HEAT-1600 was in pre-production in 2013 and is by far the biggest rocket concept designed by Copenhagen Suborbitals.

However, the 1600 mm diameter rocket and capsule concept was canned in 2014, in favour of the 950 mm diamenter Spica rocket and capsule – it was simply to big. HEAT-1600 LE was to be a full size version of the HEAT-1600 with only one TM-65 engine. The HEAT-1600 was planned to fly with an single 260 kN engine or a cluster of 4 x TM-65 engines fed by turbo pumps on a single stage.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”271″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image” css_animation=”left-to-right”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][title size=”h3″]HEAT-2X[/title][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][title size=”h3″]Spica[/title][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][title size=”h3″]HEAT-1600[/title][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][title size=”h3″]Nexø-1[/title][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][title size=”h3″]Sapphire[/title][/vc_column][/vc_row]
